We often come across some interesting videos on YouTube, but due to language barriers, we may not understand them or the subtitles translation feature of YouTube may not be very effective. Today, I will teach you a method that can generate subtitles for YouTube videos and translate them into your native language with excellent results (based on ChatGPT4+Whisper fine-tuning).
Get the URL of a YouTube video.
The first step is, of course, to obtain the video URL from YouTube.
The format of the video URL is：https://www.youtube.com/watch?v={code}
{code}Representative video ID.
For example:
The URL of this video is：https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1iF1c8w5Lg
z1iF1c8w5Lg is the video ID.
Special attention：https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CrcTQ2fiEU&list=PLQ-uHSnFig5Onr_hTtpbxBVFrQdtMQUn2
This type of URL suffix with list=xxxx is actually a list URL instead of a video URL. Video URLs can only have
v=xxxxx
Create a video translation task in Aragorn.
Enter in the browser：https://www.aragorn.cc
After clicking "Get Started", you will enter the video subtitle task management page.
Click the New Transcription Task button.
Task name can be filled with a meaningful name, which needs to exceed 3 characters.
Next, paste the source URL (https://twitter.com/YouTubeJapan/status/1777638334325559553) into the designated field.
Select the language you want to translate into at Target Language.
If you need to export the video with hard subtitles for downloading, you can open the "Export to Video with Hardsubs" switch.
Then just click OK.
Preview video / edit subtitles
When the video translation is completed, the task changes to a successful status.
Clicking on "edit" allows you to preview or edit the subtitles of the video.
Download subtitles.
Click the download button to proceed.
Download videos with embedded hard subtitles.
Click the export button.
If the "export to video With Hardsubs" switch was selected before, the task record shown in the above figure will appear. Click "download" to download the video with subtitles.
